Basically, I have finally had delivered my Akai S900 which was supposed to be in perfect working order but I just cannot get it to play any samples. I can record samples in - and here is the weird part - I can play back the sample once I have recorded it, but once I go the the 'play' menu, it is just stuck on 'TONE PROGRM' and won't let me see my samples. The PB button will also not play the tone. The other strange thing is that I can only hear the sample (from the record menu) out of the 'Mix' output on the back and not the main output from the front. Has anyone got any ideas. I basically just use one sample at a time on it, which I'll record onto it, play it, then forget it at the end of the day when I turn it off. Now at home I dont have any drum machines or synths (all at studio) so this S900 will be doing more than one sample at a time hopefully. I'd like to use it so I have a preset (program??) saved to a floppy, which I can load up each time, then fill the voices with whatever I want each time, with each voice having its own midi chan and output to mixer already assigned.And I can have a template in logic with 8 midi instruments on relevant midi chans ready to go as soon as I record somthing onto that voice.
