Select On to enter standb y mode automatically if no user interaction occurs for 3 hours. Note: The message will be display ed before ent ering standby mode. If you cannot resolv e the problem, you ma y need to hav e your aerial and installation tested by a prof essional. The channel is scrambled or not available. The channel has a signal, but no audio or video. Con?rm if the channel is currently on air. The channel has been deleted by the broadcasting compan y. Check if the channel is currently on air The channel is for data br oadcasting. Remove the channel fr om the channel list and check for new transponder details. The audio is not available. The channel has a video signal, but no audio. Pr ess the audio button to con?rm that the channel has audio options. No access No access Make sure you ar e subscribed to the channel. No authorization. If the product has been turned o? for a long time (standby or pow er o? ), please wait for authorization. It may take up to 60 minutes. Mixes luminance (brightness) and the chrominanc e (colour) signals together. DiSEqC (Digital Satellite Equipment Con trol) A DiSEqC compatible receiv er relies on a switching bo x which detects the 22kHz tone pulsing rapidly on and o?. In this way, a specially designed r eceiver can contr ol numerous LNBs through a DiSEqC switching bo x. Dolby Digital An encoding system that digitally c ompresses up to 5.1 discret e channels of audio (left front, centre, right fr ont, left surround, right surr ound) into a single Bitstream. A low fr equency e?ect (LFE) channel is included providing the sound needed for special e? ects. DVB (Digital V ideo Broadcasting) Set of standards that de?ne digital broadcasts using sat ellite, cable or terr estrial systems. EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) An electronic equivalent to a printed television listings magazine; it is an application used with digital set-top bo xes and digital television sets to list curr ent and scheduled programs that are or will be a vailable on each channel, including a short summar y or commentary for each program.
The inf ormation supplied in the EPG is sent and updated by the channel broadcaster. FEC (F orward Error Correction) A technique for err or control of data transmission. FT A (Free- T o-Air) An unscrambled broadcaster allowing cust omers to view channels or services without paying any subscription. HDD (Hard Disk Drive) The primary computer storage medium, which is made of one or more aluminum or glass platters, coated with a ferromag netic material. Hi-Fi (High F idelity) The characteristics of audio devices that can play back all the audio frequencies a person can det ect, which is the range of 16Hz-20KHz. S ometimes it is used t o indicate good quality of audio devices such as stereo tape rec orders. LNB (Low Noise Block) A device that is mounted on an arm facing your sat ellite dish, focusing on satellite sig nals. A LNB con verts signals received fr om satellite to a lo wer frequency and sends them to a satellite rec eiver via coaxial cable. NVOD (Near V ideo On Demand) A technology that allows customers t o view the start of popular programmes or ?lms within a shor t period from the time they make their selection. This is possible as the broadcaster sends multiple copies with stagger ed start times. OSD (On Screen Displa y) OSD displays the basic inf ormation necessary for the users to con?gure monitor or T V settings. OSD information may include brightness, contrast, tuning, RGB adjustment, and screen size and position. O T A (Over the Air) A standard for the transmission of software f or equipment, through a broadcast syst em. Manufacturers reser v e the right for deciding the release of the software f or their products. PID (Pack et Identi?er) A set of numbers identifying stream packets contained within a single data stream. PIP (Picture In Picture) A function that allows you to display two di.Means that a frequency can be used twice.
PVR (P ersonal V ideo Recorder) Video rec order that can recor d and playback prog rammes directly using the embedded hard disk drive(s). QPSK (Quaternary Phase Shift Keying) Digital modulation technique in which the carrier phase can hav e one of four possible values. RF (Radio Frequency) T elevision signals are modulated onto RF signals and ar e then demodulated by your t elevision ’ s or STB’ s tuner. RF Modulator Enables you to output the r eceiver’ s digital sig nals to a T V s RF ( Aerial) input, allowing you t o connect the receiver to a T V set without a SCART connection. RGB is a system to r epresent red, green, and blue colours on a T V or monitor display. Red, green, and blue can be combined in various pr opor tions t o obtain any colour. RS-232C A connection to allow you to c onnect to a PC to update receiver’ s sof twar e. SCART A 21-pin connector standard to connect two pieces of A udio-Visual equipment such as a TV and a VCR. Each device will have a 21-pin f emale connection; a cable with male connection at both ends is used for connecting the devices. Smartcard A credit card siz ed card that contains updateable chip memory. It is used for accessing P ay TV (encr ypted) channel or services when inser ted into an appr opriate receiv er. It allows the transfer of digital audio between two devic es without any con version to and from analogue, which could degrade the signal quality. It is a video signal transmission in which the luminance (brightness) and the chrominance (c olour) signals are transmitted separately t o achieve superior picture clarity. T r ansponder A satellite is divided up in parts called transponders. A transponder is one distribution section of the satellite. Each transponder can be used for distribution of several channels or services.The button will blink once. 2. Keep pressing the button f or 3 seconds until the button lights on. 3. Enter the 3-digit code. Ev er y time a number is ent ered, the button will blink.
When the thir d digit is entered, the button will blink twice. 4. If a valid 3- digit c ode is entered, the product will power o?. 5. Pr ess the OK button and the mode button will blink thr ee times.
