A programmable HI-DIFF is available on on some programmable aquastats such as And we watch the boiler relief valve to be sure we're not causing leakage there. If your TP valve was not leaking before and it begins to drip when you set up the HI to 200 F, step the HI back to 195 and try that setting. That keeps the LO temperature operating range as high as possible in the boiler and that in turn gives us the most heat stored in the boiler for making hot water through the tankless coil. The circulator will not run. If you make that mistake, you will lock out the circulator pump and your heating system will not work properly. The problem was that the. LO was set close to or even above the HI - the circulator pump never ran and hot heating water circulated but only very slowly by convection. Luckily for them, because their flow-control valve was either absent or not working, their home would indeed receive heat - but very slowly: their circulator pump had never run. It's been fixed, and fixed again thanks to reader Damian for suggesting further clarifications. Apologies for the delay. Comment Form is loading comments. The L7224U1002 provides status and diagnostic information through an LED display to enhance the diagnostic process. Buttons inside the control permit the service tech to scan through the control's settings as well as to change them, much like the functions on a programmable room thermostat. Five diagnostic LEDs inside the control provide additional diagnostic features, indicating (counterclockwise from upper left) EnviraCOM network active, Thermostat calling for heat, Burner on, Power to zone circulator interrupted (lockout), Circulator powered. This aquastat can provide multiple zone control as well.Models provide intermittent pilot or interrupted pilot with delayed main valve. Failure to read and follow all instructions carefully before installing or operating this control could cause injury, fire, damage, death. Understanding how the controller works can help users who are uncertain of why their boiler is shutting down unexpectedly. Once the water temperature reaches below the low-limit setting, the boiler burner turns on and begins to heat the water to maintain the desired water temperature. This is also factory pre-set or adjusted by the homeowner. The boiler burner automatically shuts off when the high-limit temperature is reached. The burner will restart when the water temperature falls within a differential temperature, usually about 10 degrees Fahrenheit, below the high-limit setting. This maintains a general set temperature for the water inside the boiler. If the aquastat is set at 200 degrees Fahrenheit as the high-limit setting and the pressure valve begins to leak, set the temperature back to 195 degrees Fahrenheit. Contact the aquastat manufacturer if the valve continues to leak at 195 degrees Fahrenheit or less. The circulator pump will lock out if the low-limit and high-limit points are too close or are accidentally mixed up, which prevents the boiler from working properly. Many home appliances require hot water that is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit, which can make 120 degrees a favorable low temperature setting. The lowest differential is 10 but the recommended differential is 25, which will maintain higher boiler temperatures and offer more hot water than a differential of 10.
