You can assemble the console whether you have the batteries or not and put them in later. You can also buy an adapter to plug it in if you call a phone number, rather than using batteries. You might want to have some plastic gloves to put the grease on - you have to put it parts in 3 different steps of the assembly process, so don't waste it all in the first step. Also, there is grease in the track where the wheels go - I did not like that at all since my cats are all over this thing. STURDINESS: This is sturdy. It has adjustable knobs in case your floor is uneven. NOISE: This is really quiet, since it runs on magnetic resistance. You can watch tv or have a conversation with no problem at all. SIZE: This is bigger than I imagined it from looking at the girl in the picture. I think that girl is probably about 6 feet tall. Just guessing. STRIDE: The stride is 17 inches. I read that a stride on a front drive elliptical can be 2 inches less for your height than it would be for a rear drive elliptical. I believe this is true. Shorter people can use smaller strides and taller people may need larger strides. PORTABILITY: This is easily moved by picking up the back part - the front part has wheels. I would not attempt to move this up or down stairs alone, but you could wheel it across the floor by yourself.It's in a great convenient spot.You have to buy that app if you want it.I didn't get it so I can't review that.
