One conversion kit will not work on two separate garage door openers. One at a time, press and release the learn code button on the receiver box of the GIRUD-1T. Then take the remote, step a few feet away and press and release the button on the remote three to four times. The door will open or close. Then repeat with the second remote. You will have to program the remotes you have into this conversion kit. The Aladdin Connect will not need to be reprogrammed, it will work as normal. Since my 120v outlet was upside down, I had to fabricate a bracket to hold the 24VAC so it wouldn't fall out over time. Well, after a phone conversation with a remarkably intelligent, competent and friendly tech support person at Genie, I learned that Genie is shipping this unit with a newer generation remote that must be configured in order to be compatible with the receiver in the box -- but not including any documentation to that effect. (the receiver is Intellicode-I, and the remote comes configured as Intellicode-II) The enclosed manual only discusses the remote pictured on the box, which doesn't need any configuration with this receiver. So, if you buy this (and it works fine, if you need one, go right ahead), be sure to google for the manual for the remote (using the part number on the remote), which will instruct you on how to get the other two buttons to actually work. John W 5.0 out of 5 stars Over the space of a few months, our homelinc controls became less effective until they would not operate the genie garage door openers unless we were right in front of the doors (if then). A door technician measured a very high rf field around our house, and said it was essentially jamming the receivers for the doors. The tech recommended installing these dual frequency receivers to try to restore the functionality of our remote openers. I performed a visual (satellite) and FCC database search of the surrounding area, and it turns out there is an antenna farm on a slightly higher peak about 1 mile distant that has LMRC radio sets for several organizations. I installed a dual frequency receiver on one door, and it immediately made it possible to open it from about 200' away. I bought another dual frequency receiver and installed it on the remaining door, with the same result.

I put the receiver right above the door spring and lo and behold after testing it out I ended up having about 1:50 to 300 ft of usable range with the lights on and door closed. I am so pleased with this purchase that I might end up going ahead and installing a few extra light strips in the garage. This kit worked fantastically and I would definitely buy it again. It was easy to program all my vehicles and the remote that came with the kit has the most range even over the factory installed home link systems in both mine and my wife's vehicle spirit. I did not uninstall the old remotes from the garage door opener that still work there is no issues with having that receiver as well as this receiver working at the same time. My old garage door will still open with the old remotes as long as my lights are not on but I think I want to keep the garage door opener operating the way it was from the factory just in case this product ever fails.
