I hummed and ha'd about getting 1 since like MOST people i use my cell phone way more convenient and I have a very good expensive camera that i hardly use. I used this a lot already. The fact you can have your photogragh in a Min or 2 is amazing. I do wish the film was bigger. It is kind of tiny however they come out really nice. Theres no zoom which i dont remember the original polaroid having. Its basically point and shoot. The film is stupid expensive. 4 settings Indoor-dark Cloudy-shady Fine Clear Really a fun camera.I love polaroids and this camera is the best in the market in my opinion. The pictures come out the size of a credit card. To start, you just open the hatch and drop in your film (making sure the yellow dot faces the window). Pull out the lens to turn on. There are settings on the top for indoors, cloudy, and sunny. There is a button in the front to take the picture and that's it. When you take the picture, the polaroid comes out from the top. Sometimes my photos come out very washed out. Not sure if its because I had it on the wrong setting or maybe it just doesn't work well in some scenarios (too dark or too bright out). But other than that, most of the pictures come out very nice. They make great instant memories and you can decorate the pictures with markers. The only thing I would say is that this camera is a bit heavy. It's not that convenient to carry out because of the extra weight. I believe the newer versions of this camera is a lot lighter so I would suggest buying an upgraded one because of this. It would definitely be worth it.After buying this product and 5x10 photo packs, the unit worked for about two photos and then started displaying three blinking red lights. A bit of Google searching revealed this is a common issue for this camera, indicating 'low batteries' though the manual doesn't help beyond that. Tried several sets of 'fresh' batteries, same problem.
Now that the return period has expired through Amazon, I'm forced to deal with Fujifilm's warranty process. So much for summer candids.Still cool to have.The pictures are so low quality that they are barely distinguishable. And the viewfinder isn't user friendly. Shortly after giving the gift I went to a party that had a photo booth with this camera and again, the quality was awful. It took the fun out of using props because the color was off and the image just looked distorted.Even though it's just a wallet sized photo, it's something way more unique. There were also some things I wanted to point out to people who were looking to buy the Fujifilm Instax Mini 7s: 1.) It's off centered. As you can see in the photo of the camera, where you look through and where it takes the picture are in different spots. Therefore, the picture will be off. This is probably the biggest disadvantage of the camera but if you learn to put it to a different angle, the picture will turn out fine. I showed my brother how to and now he's a professional at centering it. 2.) The best places to take pictures are the sunny outdoors or dark indoors (and to use those settings). The picture will come out best that way. If you take a picture indoors even if it's sunny, it will come out shady and gray. If you take it in the dark, the subject will stand out the best. If you take it outdoors, you'll get a lot of detail. 3.) You'll have a lot of sample pictures. Remember that the film is not included but you can get it as a bundle. First couple of shots will be dark, off centered, etc. But, practice makes perfect. Other than that, it takes really nice and clear pictures. It also has a vintage and retro feel to it. Hope you enjoy your Instax Mini 7s!Even though it's the older model and isn't as sleek and thin as the 8 or 9 I think it's a great instant camera to have without having to spend a fortune on the newer models.
The only complaint I have is that the first time using it the fabric that is attached at the film ejection spot came off when the picture came out.I've taken over 60 pics now and it works perfectly fine. I would definitely recommend!:) and just some tips for new instax mini users: be aware that film is pretty pricey. The camera works a lot better in well lit areas but if you take a pic a night make sure your subject is pretty close because the flash doesn't travel too far. Love this camera. Hope you guys have as much fun with it as I am!She' loved it! She has an iPhone along with a top of the range digital camera. But what does she choose to take out to meet friends or visit family, she will 9 times out of 10 take the Fujifilm. Not only fun but also takes a cracking photo.
