The game is suited for players eight and up, and can support three to six players. Set Up: Look on the board to see which suspect’s name is closest to you. Take the corresponding token of the suspect nearest you and place it onto the start square. Even if there are not six players, move the remaining suspect tokens onto the board. Take turns placing a weapon into a room of the mansion. Don’t place two weapons in the same room. Place the empty “Case File CONFIDENTIAL” envelope onto the “X” on the center of the board. Divide the deck of cards into three smaller piles—Weapons, Rooms, and Suspects. Place them face down onto the table. Take one card from each of the three piles (without looking at them) and place them into the “Case File CONFIDENTIAL” envelope. Shuffle the remaining cards together and deal them clockwise around the table, face down. Grab a Detectives Notepad. Use the notepad to write down clues throughout the game, but don’t let the other detectives see your notes, after all one of them could be the killer. Miss Scarlet always goes first. Play continues clockwise. If no player controls Miss Scarlet, choose another suspect to go first. Roll the die and move your token the corresponding number of spaces. You can change directions as often as you like, as long as you still have moves left on the roll, but you can’t cross over the same tile more than once on a single turn. Additionally, you may not land on a square occupied by another suspect. If you are in a room with a secret passage, you may move through the secret passage instead of rolling, simply announce your play at the beginning of your turn. Entering and Exiting a Room: There are special rules for entering and exiting rooms. First, once you pass from one room to another, you may not move further, even if you have moves left on your roll.http://newline-eg.com/userfiles/4112-xerox-manual.xml

clue board game manual, clue board game instruction, clue board game instruction manual, clue board game manual, clue board game mansion, clue board game maker, clue board game movie, clue board game murder weapons.

Second, you cannot pass into a room that is blocked by another suspect token. It will sometimes happen that both the entrance and exit of a room are blocked, in which case, you can’t leave the room until someone moves on their turn. Further, you may not enter, and then re-enter a room on the same turn. To make a suggestion, move a suspect token and a weapon token into a room on the board, and suggest that they committed the crime with that weapon in that room. You can only suggest that the murder occurred in the room you presently occupy. You can’t forfeit a turn to remain in a room (so you could make another suggestion there next turn), but if you are blocked in a room by other tokens, you must stay in the room. If your token was moved into a room, you may either roll or make a suggestion for that room on your next turn (because you will have entered the room). There is no limit to the number of weapons and suspects that can be in a single room. Proving and Disproving Suggestions: Once you make a suggestion, your opponents attempt to prove the suggestion false, beginning with the player to your left. That player looks at their cards for one of the three cards that you just named, and if they have at least one of them, they must show you (and only you) the matching card of their choice. If the player on your left is unable to disprove your suggestion, the next player must attempt to do so. Once a player shows you a card that matches one in your suggestion, cross that card off of your detective notepad. Unlike suggestions, you don’t have to be occupying a room to make an accusation that the crime occurred in there. You make an accusation by stating that you “accuse (suspect) of committing the crime in the (room) with the (weapon).http://kiev-opt.com.ua/userfiles/4120-john-deere-manual.xml

You are allowed to make both a suggestion and an accusation on the same turn, but keep in mind, if you are wrong on your accusation, you are unable to move further and cannot win the game (though you still try to disprove the other players suggestions). When you make your Accusation, look at the three cards in the envelope. If you are correct, you win the game. If you are incorrect, you cannot win the game. Note: If your token is in a door way and you make a false accusation, move it into the center of the room to free up the passage way. Players wander around the Clue game board mansion trying to solve the mystery of who was killed, by which weapon, and in what room. Clue cards are given to each player but this is still not enough to solve the mystery. Clue board game players begin making their accusations on who, where, and with what they think the murder took place. If another player can prove them wrong by showing them one of his clue cards, the game continues and intensifies as more and more clues are given. Clue is an excellent board game for strategy, reasoning, and thinking. There still is a factor of luck as players must move about the board by rolling the die. If it's cold and windy outside or dark and damp, it sounds like perfect weather to play a great game of Clue. Was it Professor Plum, with the knife, in the Ball Room?. Clue is the only board game that has had a movie made following its plot. During development, the following weapons were proposed to be in the Clue game: the dagger, revolver, rope, bomb, an axe, lead pipe, candlestick, spanner, poison and a hypodermic syringe. The Clue board game is available in over 40 countries including Japan and China.A total of three cards are then inserted into the envelope marked ?Solution Cards? and placed over the spot marked with an ?X.? All remaining cards are then shuffled together and mixed. Deal one card clockwise to each player until all cards have been dealt.

Some players may have more cards than others and is important to not let anyone see your cards. To finish setting up the Clue board game, as mentioned in the rules, position all six character playing piece on the starting squares marked with their names. This is done whether you have six players or not. Randomly place each weapon in a different room. The suspect token located closet to each player is the token they will use throughout the game. Game Play: Instructions for who starts the game are whoever has Miss Scarlet (red) rolls the die and is the first to move. Clue game play is then continued to the player left of Miss Scarlet. Players move their suspect token across the yellow squares the amount shown on the die in their roll. You may move your token forwards, backwards, or crosswise all in the same turn. Moving your token diagonally is against the Clue rules. You cannot move your token to a particular space twice in the same turn nor occupy or move through the same square as another player. This rule does not apply to rooms as multiple players and weapons may occupy the same room. The Clue board game rules state that there are three ways to enter or exit a room: 1) entering through the doorway by moving your token the number shown on the die across the yellow squares, 2) you may use the Secret Passages by jumping corner to corner across the board without using the die, 3) or your token may be placed into a room by another player when suggestions are being made to solve the murder mystery. It is against Clue rules to enter and exit a room during the same turn; entering a room ends your turn. You do not need to throw the exact number on the die to enter a room. Doors or each room do not count as a square. Once a player enters a room, they are then eligible to make a ?suggestion? on who committed the Clue game murder. This is done when the player names a Suspect, a Weapon, and the Room that they are currently in (?

I suggest that the crime was committed in the Library, by Prof. Plum with the Rope?). If the named suspect is not currently in the room where the suggestion was made they are brought into the room along with the suggested weapon. Keep in mind that all characters are considered as suspects in the crime and not only those who are being player. Forfeiting or not taking your turn is against the rules; all players must roll the die. After entering a room and making a suggestions, you may not make another suggestions until entering another room or using at least two turns (leaving and then re-entering the same room). Secret Passages can be used in any corner room on the player's turn without rolling the die. The player then announces that he has used the secret passage and may make a Suggestion. After a Suggestion has been made, if possible, players must try to prove the Suggestion to be false. This is done by moving left to the player making the accusation. If that player has one of the cards that were used in the alleged crime, he then secretly shows the player making the suggestion. Clue rules state that only one card is shown to the other player and that it is done secretly with out others seeing which card it is. It is not against the rules, however, to deliberately make a Suggestion naming one or two cards that you hold in your own hand to mislead other players or to narrow your search for one specific suspect, room, or weapon. If the player to the left cannot prove the suggestion wrong, then the next player to the left attempts to prove it wrong. All cards shown prove that that card is not in the envelope and should be noted on your Detective Pad. Once a player has proven the Suggestion wrong, the next payer in the playing order takes their turn. If no one disproves the Suggestion the player then may either pass their turn or make an Accusation.

When an Accusation is made, the player (on their turn) states that an Accusation is being made and states the three cards that he thinks committed the murder. They then carefully look at the cards inside the envelope making sure that no one else sees the cards. Unlike the previously stated rules, a player may make an accusation whether or not their token is in the room they mention. If the 3 cards named are the cards in the envelope, they are placed face up on the Clue board and that player is the winner. They stay in the game only to prove other's suggestions wrong with the cards they hold in their hands. Once a player has accused the wrong cards, blocking the doorways to rooms is against the rules and they must be moved into the nearest room. One Accusation per player per game is permitted. There are no strict Clue rules that explain how the Detective Note Pads should be used but it is suggested that you check off or write the initials of the player who has each specific card. Please keep in mind that the official Clue rules and instructions could be different depending on the game version you have. The rules below are some of the exact directions that came in the original packaging. All submissions will be reviewed within 24 hours. Or does your roll need to include one step to land in the room. Luka says: 08-08-2020 If you are playing the board game Clue and you get the clue card that says “All players rush to the room to the room of your choice” does the person who picked the card choose where you go or do you go where you choose.Jacob N says: 01-05-2020 What's the proper rule of moving around in the boxes if it's only clockwise, if I'm FOUR boxes away from a door do I have to roll a four. Or if a dice rolls 9 I have complete 9 steps. Bob says: 11-28-2019 Rolling the dice. I need understanding about the ?or?

Adam says: 11-26-2019 What would happen if a player started their turn in a room without a secret passage but all of the doors had a player directly outside of them. They can't leave the room because they're not allowed to move through another player's square. However, it also says that forfeiting or not taking your turn is against the rules. I know this is very unlikely but which rule would take precedence.Does she have to show her clue card even though the next player showed hers. That player has cheated and is eliminated from the game. Whether or not you choose to execute him is entirely at your discretion. Heather says: 08-12-2018 Can you share a spot on the board with someone else. Terry says: 08-05-2018 It's been a month, and I got no answer to my question regarding a player goofing and not showing a card that was asked for. Does she have to show her clue card even though the next player showed hers. Anybody got an answer? Thanks. Terry Terry says: 07-15-2018 It's a question. My group has continual arguments about this. Thanks! Allyson says: 04-28-2018 I was playing with my aunt and she said doors count as spaces. I saw where it said doors do not count as spaces. She is still confused. Can someone explain this for her. That is not how I have interpreted the rules. What is correct? Zach says: 10-08-2017 Is it cheating if no one has the information and the least person doesn't either and the last person shows the person the back of a card and doesn't say they have nothing charlie says: 07-12-2017 Are you allowed to make an accusation in the middle of the board? So you could choose to stay in the ballroom and make a suggestion if you'd been hauled into the ballroom because your character had been suggested by another player in the ballroom, because you'd hadn't yet made a suggestion there.

In you example, where you'd already made a suggestion there, you'd have to leave. The remaining player(s) would have to be blind in order not to see that. The recent version we bought has cards representing the weapons rather than small pieces that look like weapons. A card that looks like a gun just doesn't have the same impact as a plastic or metal piece that looks like a gun. I think we need to buy a bigger version, but availability may be a problem in our town. I know, I know; order it off the Internet. But, even if we played it wrong, Grampa and Grandson and I still had fun. Incidentally, I won the first round. Luke says: 03-10-2017 Is a player allowed to continuously stay in a room without rolling the dice. Say I entered the ballroom on one turn, made a suggestion and was wrong. Then when it came around to me again, I did not roll, I stayed in the ballroom, and made another suggestion. And so on, and so on. We needed clarification if that is allowed because it isn't clearly stated in the rules Ana says: 03-26-2016 Is it cheating if someone sneaks a look at someone else's clue sheet. I had a huge debate about this. I think it's cheating. A: Only one accusation can be made per person in the game. So if you're wrong you're out of the game. However if you want to make a suggestion, it is alright if you use some of the cards in your hand to throw other players off. For example, you might have Mrs. White and the Dining Room in your hand. Then you make the suggestion that it was Mrs. White with the candlestick in the dinging room. Therefore you already know it's not the two you have in your hand and you're really just trying to figure out the weapon. Gilly says: 02-08-2016 Kevin, the intrigue card applies only to the person who has it. It does not cover the other players to the left because it's not their card. We had a huge debate over whether the card applies to ONLY to the person with the card or to all players seated to the left of the player with the card.

I can't find an answer in the rules. Anyone know where to find the answer. Kevin says: 12-30-2015 To Steve T. Must be in a room is our interpretation. Churo says: 04-16-2015 Can a person make a acusation they KNOW is false, to put the opposite person in the wrong trail Marge says: 12-25-2014 Can a person keep switching between two secret passages. James says: 12-25-2014 Can a player make an accusation that he knows is false because he has one or two of the cards he includes in the accusation? That Guy says: 12-10-2009 Hey there Steve T if you would just read the rules like everyone else you would find that anyone can can make an accusation about a room they are not in. Leslie says: 06-05-2009 Clue is so fun to play!, its like playing out a mystery book. Sienna says: 03-23-2009 Steve T.- I am next to positive that Prof. Plum still has to be in a room.Being in the area between rooms would be making an accusation from a room he is not in, but some say that the intention is that prof.Thoughts? Jack says: 01-25-2008 The card game clue is really fun. Liz R. says: 11-04-2007 I love this game. It is now published by the United States game and toy company Hasbro, which acquired its U.S.

publisher Parker Brothers as well as Waddingtons. The board games form an overall story whose complete chronology can be found at Cluedo chronology. In particular, Pratt's original design calls for ten characters, one of whom was to be designated the victim by random drawing prior to the start of the game. The game allowed for play of up to eight remaining characters, providing for nine suspects in total. Some of these unused weapons and characters would appear in later spinoff versions of the game. Some aspects of the gameplay were also different. Notably, the remaining playing cards were distributed into the rooms to be retrieved, rather than dealt directly to the players. Players also had to land on another player in order to make suggestions about that player's character through the use of special counter-tokens, and once exhausted, a player could no longer make suggestions.Occasionally they are made from wood or pewter.Special editions have included gold plated, brass finished and Sterling silver versions, which have appeared in a variety of designs. Each of the four corner rooms contains a secret passage that leads to the room on the opposite diagonal corner of the map. The center room (typically called the Cellar, or Stairs) is inaccessible to the players, but contains the solution envelope. These cards represent the facts of the case. The remainder of the cards are distributed among the players. There are six different characters, six possible murder weapons and nine different rooms, leaving the players with 324 distinct possibilities. This is done in clockwise order around the board. A suggestion is disproved by showing a card containing one of the suggestion components (for example, the rope) to the player making the suggestion, as this proves that the card cannot be in the envelope. Showing the card to the suggesting player is done in secret so the other players may not see which card is being used to disprove the suggestion.

Once a suggestion has been disproved, the player's turn ends and moves on to the next player. So, though several players may hold cards disproving the suggestion, only the first one will show the suggesting player his or her card. A player may only make a suggestion when his or her piece is in a room and the suggestion can only be for that room.If he has made an incorrect accusation, he plays no further part in the game except to reveal cards secretly to one of the remaining players when required to do so in order to disprove suggestions. If the player made a correct accusation, the solution cards are shown to the other players and the game ends. This doesn't affect the game play; the object of the game is still to be the first to make the correct accusation. If the game is played with two people, the process of elimination diffuses the same information to both players. Such a game tends to pass quickly. The Hasbro version of the game is not advertised as a two-player game.In addition, commencing in 1985, the brand expanded to include feature films, television series, a musical, as well as numerous books. Players uncover details of several murders per game by matching clues given on cards to the action on the video. Only five weapons (candlestick, knife, revolver, rope, and poison) and five rooms (Dining Room, Kitchen, Hall, Conservatory, and Library) are featured but there are a total of ten suspects (the original six plus M. Brunette, Madam Rose, Sgt. Gray, and Miss Peach). The rules are greatly expanded, with each card having coloured and numbered squares in each corner, which are uncovered by special card holders. Rather than the remaining cards being dealt out at the start of the game, they had to be 'discovered' by reaching one of the many blue counters scattered on the board. This rooms this time around are the Dining Room, Lounge, Hall, Billiard Room, and Hotel Room.

In addition to the original characters, weapons and rooms, the game adds four characters (Madam Rose, Sgt. Grey, M. Brunette and Miss Peach—the same four new characters from the VCR games), two weapons (poison and horseshoe), and seven rooms (courtyard, gazebo, drawing room, carriage house, trophy room, studio and fountain) to the mansion. This version was also made into a computer game. The player played as one of the old six suspects, who are kids, and try to find out who took the missing pet and where they hid it. One player is a thief moving in a museum stealing paintings, while the other players cooperate to catch the thief. The thief keeps track of his position secretly on paper and is thus not seen by the detectives, until the thief is spotted by a detective or the museum's security system. Ideally, multiple rounds are played, with each player getting to be the thief once. The winner of the match is then the thief who stole the most paintings without getting caught. Instead of finding the murder, the players need to find the ghost of their ancestors and remember where they are. There is no set board to this game, instead the board is made up of twelve tiles which are laid out randomly as players enter new rooms, to create a 4x3 grid. The murder cards remain unchanged to the basic edition, but are not dealt to each player, instead there are 'clue' squares on the board marked by small plastic magnifying glasses, which players collect to get clues. These item cards allow such things as making more than one suggestion per turn, or moving an incidental character. There are three incidental characters in the game (Inspector Grey, Hogarth the Butler, and the Black Dog) who can serve as help or hindrance, and are controlled through the item and event cards. Event cards are drawn from a deck upon a certain roll of the die and can have varying impact on a game. Instead of solving a murder, the children search for clues for the whereabouts of some lost toys.

The rules are significantly different from those for the regular board game. The characters, which look like the original game's suspects as children, are named Mortimer Mustard, Georgie Green, Peter Plum, Wendy White, Polly Peacock and Samantha Scarlet. There is very little change to the mechanics of the game (except you can only play the six original characters), with mainly cosmetic changes and updates to the characters. You play as one of four new characters (Lord Grey, Lady Lavender, Miss Peach and Prince Azure, adding a non-Caucasian character since the early Asian Miss Scarlet, none of whom are suspected in the crime. The murder is not of Dr. Black (Mr. Boddy) but of his attorney Miles Meadow-Brook. The usual suspects are in place, this time bolstered by two new people Mrs. Meadow-Brook and Rusty the Gardener. The game play is completely different though, with the introduction of the electronic section announcing moves and clues and no die rolling. Instead players move from location to location to track down each of the suspects to gain their clues, before finding Inspector Brown to make an accusation. Instead of a murder, Dr. Black has had an item stolen and, in addition to guessing the criminal, location (room) and stolen object, the time of day when the crime took place also has to be discovered. In each turn players guess three of these four unknowns; and from time to time Inspector Brown and the butler, Ashe, show up via the DVD with helpful information.Players are given a set of clues and must deduce the location of the murder and the murderer. The game features new, up-to-date weapons, rooms, and suspects as well as changes to the rules of gameplay (see below).Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion, was released in 1998 for Microsoft Windows. It is available in many pubs throughout the UK.The setting takes place in a hotel and the crime is someone animating the furniture in the hotel. In this version, the person murdered was Mr. Boddy.

The film, which featured different endings released to different theatres, failed at the box office, but has subsequently attracted a cult following. All three endings released to theatres are available on the VHS and DVD versions of the film, to watch one after the other (VHS), or to select playing one or all three endings (DVD).There have been, to date, four seasons of the British version of Cluedo (and a Christmas version that in fact shows some similarity to the North American movie), and there have been other versions in Germany, France, Australia, Portugal and Scandinavia. There is a new murder victim every episode, who usually has it coming to them for one reason or another. The one-hour special was hosted by Martin Mull, who had starred in the feature film adaptation the previous year; clips from the movie are seen intertwined with the footage. At the start of each performance, three audience members each select one card from over-sized versions of the traditional game decks and place them in an envelope. The chosen cards determine the ending of the show, with 216 possible conclusions.A second tour was undertaken in 1990. Like the musical, the play involved the audience's random selection of three solution cards which were revealed towards the end of the play, whereupon the actors would then conclude the play by performing one of the 216 endings possible. The books featured the US Clue characters in short, comedic vignettes and asked the reader to follow along and solve a crime at the end of each. The crime would usually be the murder of another guest besides Mr. Boddy, a robbery of some sort, or a simple contest, in which case they must figure out who won. The tenth and final vignette would always be the murder of Mr. Boddy. Somehow, Mr. Boddy would always manage to cheat death, such as fainting before the shot was fired or being shot with trick bullets. However, at the end of the 18th book, Mrs. Peacock kills Mr. Boddy out of starvation and Mr.
