USING YOUR NAVIGATOR CONTROL There are 2 ways to operate your Navigator Controller. You can use MANUAL CONTROL and select the your mode of operation or you can set a PROGRAM for automatic operation. NOTE: If there is only a central heater fitted in the house, the Navigator Controller will default to Heat. Your Navigator Controller is programmed to automatically detect the appliances connected. Page 19 Multi-Appliance Navigator Control Ducted Gas Central Heating BOOST MODE The BOOST mode operates the heater at maximum power level if the room temperature is below the set temperature. The Navigator Controller turns off the unit when the set temperature is reached. The Navigator Controller turns the unit back on when room temperature drops again. Repeat to open or close more zones. Now the Heater operates only in your selected zones. To select the program periods press the or button and press the ENTER button. Your unit has been supplied with an Aquamiser as well as a bleed control system to provide maximum options for best water management. DUCTED EVAPORATIVE AIR CONDITIONER MAINTENANCE GENERAL All BONAIRE Ducted Evaporative Air Conditioners benefit from some general maintenance to ensure continued cooling efficiency and a long life. Maintenance is carried out at the beginning and end of summer to start up and close down your unit. SETTING UP THE NAVIGATOR CONTROLLER - GENERAL BEFORE STARTING Before attempting to use the setup instructions for the controls system, make sure the transceiver (RF units only) or the low voltage cable is connected, batteries have been correctly installed in the Navigator Controller (RF) and the 240 volt power has been turned on to the product. COMMISSIONING CHECK LIST GENERAL All equipment ordered by the customer is installed. The unit is level and secure. The mains and control wiring are complete, the circuit breaker and GPO are turned ON. All Controller functions for the appliance operate. All electrical or gas connections are to manufacturers specifications and the relevant electrical or gas standards and codes. Burner pressure is correct. My recent experience was flawless, beginning with initial enquiry via pleasant office staff Justine and Jess to the installation of my air conditioner by Colin and Dean and their electrician. We had tried the Air Conditioning and found it to be very effective in cooling the entire house. Now that the weather has cooled down we have had the opportunity to use the heating both zoned and for the entire house. As a consequence of your sensational service, only one day in the cold and I go home to a warm house. We are impressed by Colin’s expertise and design to overcome the inherent problems of the previous terrible installation. Your tradesmen were good at their job, pleasant and caring and finished this large job in good time. Wheel Assembly Before installing the wheels the unit MUST be laid down as shown. As shown in the picture, lie down the unit carefully and place the wheel screw end in to the recess under the tank as shown. Then tighten the wheel in by using the spanner. Once all 4 wheels are assembled then carefully stand up the unit without damaging a rear filter panel. Spanner Note: Wheels must be locked when operating the unit. To lock and unlock the wheels please refer the picture. The overflow is factory fitted. If unit is inside then bleed hose should be kept inside the tank and regular draining of the tank will be required. If unit is outside then bleed hose should place through the overflow fitting SHOULD bleed water during normal operation at a rate between 6 12 Litres per hour (1.5 3 gallons per hour). This is normal and is designed to preserve the quality of the Cooler and Cooling efficiency of the Unit. The float valve is factory set and should require no further adjustment at time of installation. As an alternative to hose connection, the tank can be manually filled through the ice door of the front of the unit. The water level should be set its maximum limit as shown on overflow. Maximum Water Level Float Valve Overflow Page 8 9 BONAIRE PORTABLE COOLER Installation Startup Checklist Position the cooler as required and lock all of the wheels. Check that another door or window in the room is open to allow air to exhaust to other parts of the house. Turn the water supply to the cooler on if hose connected or fill the tank with water. Plug the cooler into a 110V 60Hz single phase grounded appliance socket and switch the socket on. Turn the unit on to FAN mode and check the operation of the three speeds fan. Rotate the control knob to COOL mode and operate the three speed fan and pump.
Leaving the unit in the COOL mode, check that a constant small stream of bleed off water is coming from the overflow tube if unit is outside. This bleed off is designed to reduce mineral build up on the CELdek filter pads. You may notice a wet paper smell as the water circulates around the filter pads. This is normal during the commissioning phase and at the beginning of each season when the unit is operated after the winter break. It will only last for a short time. Your cooler must be positioned in front of an open window or door if it is to operate effectively. Always ensure that there is another open window or door through which the air can exhaust from the room. Cooler Operation Before Starting Always ensure that there is another open window or door through which the air can exhaust to other parts of the house. Ensure that the filters are kept clean. Ensure that the water to the cooler is turned on or that the tank has been manually filled with water. Ensure the plug is connected to a 110V 60Hz single phase grounded appliance socket on the inside of the house and turned on. IMPORTANT. After the first 10 hours of operation in COOL mode, the water must be drained from the unit water tank to remove any new product residuals. This process must be repeated after a further 10 hours of COOL mode operation. IMPORTANT: Wheels MUST BE locked while operation unit. Operating the Unit The Durango Portable Cooler can be operated in either Manual or Auto (Remote) mode. This is selectable by the toggle switch on the front panel.
