Last night I was at rehearsal and towards the end of the night the signal from my bass would cut out. I thought maybe it was a bad cable so I tried a different cable, and after about 5 minutes the signal cut out again. If I turned the amp off and then back on, the signal would be there again. Do anybody know what might be wrong and maybe a good place to take it to get fixed. I bought it new from Guitar Center three years ago. When this dilemma happened I had been playing for probably 2 hours or so. So it's entirely possible that it got too hot.Never had that problem again.Click to expand. The b2 cuts out like you describe, but only when I run through the front input. When I use it as a power slave amp it is rock solid. I have owned it for 12 years and never got it fixed. Ampeg amps definitely have a particularly full sound and is one that is pretty much synonymous with a professional sound. I like the amount of control that you have available to you, as it's possible to get a number of different bass sounds for different situations.

It's not the most versatile in the world, but between the extra graphic EQ and the main controls, you should be able to do pretty much everything you want with it. OVERALL OPINION The Ampeg B2R is a pretty inexpensive way to get a great bass head. It's no longer being made but wasn't stopped being made all that long ago, so they should definitely be available on the used market for those interested. The B2R could definitely be a nice find for someone looking for a quality Ampeg bass amp but might not have a ton of cash to drop on one.
