The AeroPad Mini is a perfect solution for those older computers, such as the iMac and iBook, without a wireless solution, the AeroPad Mini gives them the wireless capability they deserve. No driver or software installation required. But since no drivers are required for the AeroPad Mini, it can be extended beyond computers, for use with ANY device with an Ethernet port. This will allow the TiVo to connect wirelessly to the local network, allowing it to access media content (music, photos, and video) on your computer or on the Internet. Each obstruction can and will diminish the signal strength. So bare this in mind when planning and implementing your wireless network. Then it outlines the steps in connecting the unit to your computer. 3.1 Front LED’s and Back Panel LED’s:. AeroPad Mini would not work if it is set in any other position. As with any wireless adapter, you will need to configure the AeroPad Mini before it can connect to your wireless network. Mainly, AeroPad needs to know what the Network Name (SSID) and the WEP Key (if your network is encrypted) are. Under the Internet and Network section, click the Network icon.In the Control Panel, double-click the Network icon. Accessing and configuring the AeroPad Mini is done using any web browser (such as Apple Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer, or Netscape Navigator). Then, select ether 64 or 128-bit WEP encryption and enter the network HEX key value in the key text box. Click “Next” to continue. For most users, that's all that is required to access the wireless network successfully. But you are also able to review and set all the values manually here in this page. AP Name: The name of the AeroPad Mini, as it is recognized by the wireless network. If you have multiple computers each using an AeroPad Mini, then you can set each AeroPad Mini to have a unique name. Note: The AeroPad Mini must use the same authentication type and WEP Key as the access point is configured for, otherwise the AeroPad Mini will fail to connect to the wireless network. This setting is not recommended usually, as you will not be able to know the IP Address of the AeroPad Mini easily, and you will have no way of getting back to its web-config pages. But this setting may be desirable if you have multiple AeroPad Minis to manage (e.g. Most users will not need to change the settings. These changes affect the wireless performance and operating modes of the AeroPad Mini. Items on this page may help increase wireless performance if set correctly. You can change them so no one can change your AeroPad Mini settings without your knowledge. Restore settings: To restore the AeroPad Mini to a previously saved configuration, click the “Choose File” button and select the file that was created when you backed up your settings. It does not need to be changed to the range of your wireless network in order for your computer to get online. It is OK that each AeroPad Minis continues to have the same default fixed IP, even though multiple AeroPad Minis are being used in the same wireless network. Access points combined with a distributed system support the creation of multiple radio cells that enable roaming throughout a facility. In Macintosh terms, Access Point is also referred to as Base Station.

Ad-hoc An ad-hoc network is a local area network or other small network, such as wireless, in which some of the network devices are part of the network only for. By going wireless you reduce the hassle of cable clutter, the expensive need to run cabling in the home or office and the aggravation altogether to crawl under that desk for the last time to see if that Ethernet cable is connected. The convenience of where and when you want to connect to your network or Internet is now yours. Situate your computer in the most convenient location without regards to whether there is an access point or router nearby. Imagine the ease and speed of which you can connect to your wireless network and to the Internet. It provides a complete SOHO solution for Internet surfing, and is easy to configure and operate even for non-technical users.

Instructions for installing and configuring AeroPad Mini can be found in this manual. Before you install and use AeroPad Mini, please read this manual carefully to take full advantage of AeroPad Mini. Network conditions and environmental factors lower actual data throughput rate. An Infrastructure network uses one or more access points (such as the Macsense XRouter Aero, or Apple AirPort Base Station) as a gateway, linking the wireless network to a wired LAN. As a result, computers on your wireless network have access to all the features of your wired LAN including email, Internet access, network printers and file servers. But since no drivers are required for the AeroPad Mini, it can be extended beyond computers, for use with ANY device with an Ethernet port. These Ethernet devices include game consoles like Xbox and PlayStation 2, and DVRs such as Tivo. With AeroPad Mini, now these devices can be placed anywhere in the house. Configure the AeroPad Mini in ad-hoc mode for peer-to-peer data transmission, or configure it to infrastructure mode to connect to the internet and This will allow the TiVo to connect wirelessly to the local network, allowing it to access media content (music, photos, and video) on your computer or on the Internet. AeroPad Mini simplifies connection by eliminating long cable clutter. Because of this, the initial location of the Access Point or wireless router is extremely important. Situating the AeroPad Mini so that it has the least amount of obstruction is highly advisable. Without these common settings, they will not be able to communicate with one another. Any additional encryption settings for security measures must be configured identically on all devices to accept the data transfer. You can easily move a desktop computer within a room or to an entirely different room or floor without restrictions of an Ethernet cable.

This, however, does take proper and precise planning of where to locate your access point(s) and how to overlap them so as to provide full wireless range. All obstructions will weaken the signal to some degree. If the antenna is internal, position the unit in different directions to maximize reception. Each obstruction can and will diminish the signal strength. So bare this in mind when planning and implementing your wireless network. It's all these people that Macsense is targeting with the AeroPad Mini WUA-800. Basically, all it does is allow any Mac (or PC, Xbox and the like) with an Ethernet port to access an existing wireless network. The AeroPad Mini itself joins the wireless network then passes the data over a short length of Ethernet cable to the port on the computer. GSM - then labelled Groupe Special Mobile was originally conceived back in 1982 as a European standard for mobile phones. The first GSM network went live in 1992 in Finland. GSM introduced the concept of the SIM card (Subscriber Identity Module card) - a detachable smart card that lets users swap their phone number and contacts between handset. I tried other products that just did not work at all. The Aeropad Mini is a good alternative, but is not easy to set up and then to trouble shoot. Because the Aeropad is on the ethernet side of the computer and there are no software drivers; there is no indicator that there is a live object on the net. The only clue you get that something is wrong is that there is no connectivity. Should be some kind of icon in the tool bar that there is some signal or ?. For some reason the Aeropad will just drop out and you need to go through the set up proceedure again. I called the company and they could not help, although when I told them it was connected through my ethernet hub, they said that it was not designed for hub connection.well how do I connect my ethernet printer. It does work through the hub but, does this cause the lost IP address. I am putting up with the ocasional drop outs but am not totally satisfied as it is really a pain to have to go through the set up again and again.Lousy set up instructions, worse support, just plain bad. If you rely on WIFI something that is current and don't bother trying to breath new life in out-dated equiptment; you'll be sorry and will have wasted your time. So I took the snare pad of my old YAMAHA SL1 silent drum-kit, a rather noisy pad, sampled it and created an element file for Aerodrums. I don’t ask for anything, but a little thanks if you use it, or even constructive criticism is welcome. This will not transform your Aerodrums in a practice pad, but at least it will sound like one. Just unzip AEROPAD.zip and put AEROPAD.ele in your elements folder (Aerodrums\data\elements) and AEROPAD.

ini in your drumkits folder (Aerodrums\conf\drumkits) and load it in Aerodrums like you do with the other kits. A good website for finding pad-exercises is snarescience.com, but there are many others. Like Richard Lee shows in his video about hand-techniques, use a very loose German grip, reversed rebound and fingers when possible when working on rudiments with Aerodrums. Don’t over-stress your wrists. Have fun. Richard wrote: I recommend using this with reverb (accessible from the Aerodrums Sound menu) set to at least 15%. The samples seem to tail off very quickly so without any reverb they sound a bit off. But with reverb enabled they sound great! Thanks for sharing it. I have a couple of small observations: 1. I recommend using this with reverb (accessible from the Aerodrums Sound menu) set to at least 15%. The samples seem to tail off very quickly so without any reverb they sound a bit off. Thanks for sharing it.Thanks for having looked into this. Apparently I didn't recorded a sufficient number of samples. It’s the first time I’m using a mike for doing a sample for Aerodrums. It even wasn’t a mike, I used just my smartphone put on a chair beside the pad. What do you think about to record each hand separately. Will this work smoothly together after. And do you think it might be better to record this in a big room with some natural reverb. I understood that you have just used the.ele file? If so, may I ask you for the sensitivity and volume settings you have used. All in all, there is enough room for getting this better. I need to get me a good mike and a stand for being able to put it closer to the pad. There will be an update in a couple of weeks.I’ve a lot of now, but nothing available for sharing. Since last year I’m sampling my own VSTIs for having them inside Aerodrumms without the need of a VST host and I am very satisfied with this. Happily this is tolerated by the manufacturers as fair use, but I don’t have the right to share them.

If you are looking for sound-files, I know where you can find 4 GB of them legally, but you need to get your hands dirty. It’s the brain content of an e-drum you can download for free from their website and without any proof that you really own the drum-kit. And I know a free and legal java program which lets you explore all the sounds in there and split them one by one into wave files ready to be imported in Aerodrums. I won’t give the names here in this public forum, because this could be found by search engines or web-spiders. Even if this isn’t illegal, I’m quite sure they won’t like it. But if you (or someone else) want to know more, just send me a PM. PS. I’ve made you a Cocktail-Kit. Will see tomorrow if I can attach it to a PM. The drums within Aerodrums seem to have a different level of responsiveness to them than using the midi out. Again, I have dabbled with some of my own samples etc. It can all be kind of cumbersome trying to set up. I always get sound even if moving the sticks slightly over the drums that is annoying. I think a lot of this type of stuff that we have been talking about lately in this thread and the other one, are why a lot of people probably throw in the towel. Will see tomorrow if I can attach it to a PM. Doesn’t work, can not attach file to PM. I will upload to MediaFire and send you a message when done. Also I’m thinking about to send you one of my “template” kits where you can put in your own instruments.Again, I have dabbled with some of my own samples etc. It can all be kind of cumbersome trying to set up. I always get sound even if moving the sticks slightly over the drums that is annoying. I think a lot of this type of stuff that we have been talking about lately in this thread and the other one, are why a lot of people probably throw in the towel. Please can you open one or two new topics for this, I have some ideas what to do and I would be glad if I could help you.

But, like you said yourself, this problems might concern other people and they would never look for them in this topic. And other people who might be interested by this one here will get upset having to read all this off topic stuff. But don’t hesitate to open new ones.Hi, did you get the time to play with it? Recording more samples for each hand and treating them separately should improve it a lot. I believe you can get away with far less than this but on the other hand it doesn't hurt much to build your element using more samples than necessary - more memory will be required to store the samples but it won't have any effect on runtime performance. Reverb is a matter of personal preference. I don't think it's necessary to record the samples with a lot of natural reverb to have them sounding good. I think the issue with the element you made is that you could still hear sound (either the pad ringing out or ambient noise) at the end of the samples and bumping up the realtime reverb in Aerodrums would mask this. When processing the Aerodrums samples we always added a short fade out at the end of each one to ensure that there was no audible cut-off. Another option is to add reverb (or other effects) to each of your samples in post before feeding them to Aerodrums. This will give you a lot of control but again is a matter of personal preference. By the way, I used the AEROPAD.ini file you provided - I was happy with the sensitivity. In Aerodrums we compute the speed that the stick is moving when it hits a drum and we convert this speed to a volume at which the appropriate sample is played back. In MIDI, volumes are represented as a integer number between 0 and 255 where 0 is quietest and 255 is loudest. Unfortunately, in pretty much all of the drum VSTs we have tested, sending a note with a volume of 1 still results in a reasonably audible hit. These are the hits that you're hearing when you move the stick very slightly.
