I pulled the trigger on buying a gas version Bentley manual this week as I need data for other places on our 335D unrelated to engine itself (brakes, suspension, etc). I know it will be totally inadequate with regard to the M57 info we would need. I see it as having some information is better than having no information. I've in the past had to mooch off forum friends for torque specs. So, atleast some of the torque info I will have now. The Bentley manual is only good up to model year 2010 as well. My year is 2011.
