To secure the T V in this manner: (1) attach the provided securement clip to an immovable structure, then (2) pass a sturdy strap through the securement clip and attach each end to the hooks located on the back of the T V. Be sure to leave at least 4 inches between the TV and the wall or similar stru cture for ventilation.

Before proceed ing, make sure th e appropriate bracket(s) a re attached to the wall and the back of the TV as d escribed in th e instructions provided with the wall bracket. 4) After attaching the appropriate b racket(s) to the wall and the back of the TV, remove the pedestal stand from the TV as descri bed below. Removing the Ped estal Stand 1) Carefully lay the front of the unit face down on a flat, cushioned surface such as a quilt or b lan ket. Leave the stand protruding over the edge of the surface. Note: Extre me care shoul d always be used wh en removing the ped estal stand t o avoid damage t o the LCD pan el. 2) Remove the jack pack cover on the back of the TV to expose the pe desta l stand sc rews. T he jack pack co ver can be r emove d without tools. 3) Remove the four screws shown in the diagram below. Important notes about your LCD TV The following symptoms are technical limitations of LCD Display technology and are not an indication of malfunction; therefore, Toshiba is not responsible for perceived issues resulting from these symptoms. 1) A n afterim age (ghost) may appear on t he screen if a f ixed, non- movi ng image is d isplayed for a long per iod of time. The afterimage is not permanent and will disappear in a short p er iod of time. 2) The LCD panel contained in this TV is manufactured using an extremely high level of precision technology; however, there may be an occasio nal pixel (dot of light) that does not operate properly (does not light, remains constantly lit, etc.). This is a structu ral property of LCD tech nology, is no t a sign of malfu nction, an d is not cov ered under your warra nty. Such pixels are not visible when the pic ture is viewed from a normal viewing distance. Optical audi o cable Optical audio cable is for co n necting receivers with Dolby Digital or PCM (pul se-code modulation ) optical audio input to the TV’s DIGITAL AUDIO OUT term inal ( - page 18). Analog RGB (15-pin) computer cable Analog RGB (15-pin) co mputer cable is for connecting a PC to the TV’s PC IN terminal ( - page 19). About the connection illustrations You can connect different types and brands of devices t o your TV in several differ ent co n figurations. After the channels are programmed automatically, you can manually add or er ase individual chann els in the channel memory. This is normal; howev er, once chan nel programming i s finished, you should not hav e to repeat the programming proce ss again un less your C able TV service lineup chan ges significant ly. To program chann els automatica lly: 1 Configure t he antenna input sou rce, if you have no t already don e so ( - page 29 ). 2 From the Setup menu, highlight Installation a nd pre ss T. A new set of Installation men u icons will appear. 3 Open the Terrestri al menu, highli ght Channel Program to bri ng up the Star t, and pres s T again to begin ch annel programming. The TV will automatically cycle through all the antenna channels, and s t ore all active ch annels in the channel memory. While t he TV is cycling through the channels, the message “Scanning channe ls, please wait” appears (as show n above). 4 To cancel channel p rogramming, press O on th e remot e control (o r highlight Cancel in the on-screen display and pres s T ). When channel p rogramming is finished, press or, to view the program m ed ch annels. Manual ly adding an d deleting chan nels in the cha nnel memory After automatically progra mming channels into the channel memory, you can man ually add or delete individual chan nels. To add or dele te channels in t he channel memory: 1 From the Setup menu, highlight Installation and press T. To add a channel to the channel memory: Highlight the un checked box next to the chann el number you want to add, an d then press T to check the box. If the channel i s found, the number w ill be added to the list and the box will be checked. If the channel is not found, a message will appear. To remove a channel from the channel memory: Highlight the checked b ox next to the channel number you want to remove, and then press T to unch eck the box. To save your ne w settings: High light Do ne and press T.

To re move en crypte d chann els from the cha nnel memory: If an encrypted channel is accident ally added to the channel list by progr amming channels, you can remove the u nwanted encrypted (no n-viewable) channel while you are channel surfing. When yo u tune into an encr ypted channel, the following message will appear. Press 1 while the message is on the screen to remove the unnecessary channel f rom the channel list. Labeling channels A list of common channel l abels (logos) for various channel s (ABC, CBS, etc.) will be program med into the TV. Y ou will be able to view and as s ig n these logos from the Channel Labeling window. To assign cha nnel labels: 1 From the Pref erences menu, highlight Channel Labeling and press T. The Channel Labeling wind ow ope ns. 2 Press or, t o se lect the channel yo u want to label. 3 Press BbC c to highlight the desired channel label and pres s T. 4 Repeat s t e ps 2 and 3 for other channels. 5 To save yo ur settings, h ighlight Don e and press T. The m aximum number of labels th at can be st ored is 12 8. To remove c hannel labels: 1 Open the Channel Labeling wind ow. 2 Press or, to select th e channel for which you want to remove the label. 3 Press BbC c to highlight No La bel and press T. 4 Repeat s t e ps 2 and 3 for other channels. 5 To save yo ur settings, h ighlight Don e and press T. If the desired channel label is not available from th e list of presets, you can create a custom label.High light the new custom l abel and press T to assign. Note: Becaus e t he PC a nd HDMI 1 inputs share the sa me set of analog a udio inputs, t he PC Audio menu se tting influenc es the HDMI 1 Audio men u setting. Yes No Mode Description Auto When viewing the HDMI 1 input, if digital audio from the HDMI in put is available, it will be output. If not, the TV will automatically detect and outp ut analog audio fr om the PC Audio input. Digital When viewing the HDMI 1 input, digital audio from the HDMI input wi ll be ou tput.

Analog When viewing the HDMI 1 input, analog audio fr om the PC Audio input will be ou tput.To close t he screen and retur n to the Terrest rial menu: Highlight Done and press T. To re turn to norm al view ing: Press O. Setting the time zone The Time Zone setup will allow you to specify the correct time zone for you r region. This feat ure will allow the TV status information to show the correct ti me zone information ( - page 54). To s et the ti me zone: 1 From the Setup menu, highlight Installation and press T. A new set of Installation menu icons wi ll appear. 2 Open the Time Zone menu, highl ight Time Zone Setup, and press T. 3 Press C or c to select t he region, highli ght Done, and then press T. After the time zone has been set, you will be asked to set the current Daylight Sav ing Time status.To close t he screen and retur n to the Instal lation menu: Highlight Done and press T. Reset Factory Defaul ts To reset a ll settings and c hannels to the ir factory default val ues: 1 From the Setup menu, highlight Installation a nd pre ss T. A new set of Installation menu icons will appear. 2 Open the Syste m Status me nu, high light System Info rmation, and press T. 3 Pre ss C c to scroll through the men u bar to select Factory Defaults. 4 Enter your PIN code (or 000 0 if no PIN co de has been set). 5 Highli ght Yes and press T. The TV will turn off automatically after a few second s. After the TV turns off, unplug the TV po w er cor d and then plug it in again to complete the reset pr ocess. To ca ncel th e reset: Highlight No and press T. As a result, the TV will turn on more quickly. While in Fast mode, the yellow LED on the front of the TV will be lit. To set the Po wer-On Mode feature: 1 From the Setup menu, high light Power -On Mode and pres s c. 2 Press B or b to select either Power-S aving or Fast, and pres s T.If the connected C EC dev ice has any connected devices, a separate d evice selection popu p window will appear.

To label the video input source s: 1 Press Y and open the P referen ces menu. 2 Highlight Input Labeling and press T. 3 Press B or b to high light the video source you want to label.Input labe ling example: The screen below left s hows the default Input Selection screen (with no ne of the inputs labeled as a specific device).To return to factory defaults, highlight Res et and press T.Setting the Channel Tuning M ode This feature allows you to choose ho w tuning will be handled for analog and d igital channels when the TV is in A ntenna mode. Note: To u se this feat ure, the Input Configuration must be set to Antenna ( - page 29). The channel tuning mode ha s three options. Note: Digita l mode will be most use ful after anal og channels are shu t down by the go vernment in 2009. To set the Cha nnel Tuning Mode: 1 From the Setup menu, highlight Installation and press T. A new set of Installation menu icons will appear. 2 Open the Terrestri al men u, high light Channel Tuning Mode, press c and B b to se l ect yo ur desired mode, and then press T. Note: This feature will n ot work unles s you program ch annels into th e TV’s chann el memory ( - page 30). For example, to select chan nel 125, press 1, 2, 5, th en T.Each time you press R, the TV will switch back and forth between the last two channels that were tuned. Not e: If you press R f rom a non-antenna input, the TV will retu rn to the last-vi ewed input. To memorize a channel to the R bu tton: 1 Tune the TV to the channel you want to program in to the R button. 2 Pres s and ho ld R for about 2 seconds until the message “Memorized” appears on- screen. The channel has been programmed to the R button. 3 You can then chang e channels repeatedly, and when you press R, the memorized channel will be tune d. The TV will return to the me morized chan nel one time only.

Once you press R and then change chan nels again, the CH RTN memory will be cleared and the button wi ll f u nction as Channel Re turn, by switchi ng back and forth be tween the last two channels that are tuned.This feature also works for external inputs. Selecting the picture size You can view ma ny program formats in a variety of p icture sizes— Nat ural, TheaterWide 1, TheaterWi de 2, TheaterWide 3, Full, 4:3 HD, Nativ e and Dot by Dot. Note: The “ picture size ” illustrations a re examples only. The format of t he image (in a ny of the pict ure sizes) wi ll vary depend ing on the format of the signal yo u are current ly watchin g. Select the p icture size that displays the c urrent program the way that look s best to you. You can save s eparate picture size preferences for e ach input on your TV. To select the picture size using the menus: 1 Select Picture S ize in the Theater Settings menu. 2 Press C or c to select the desired picture si ze setting. 3 Highlight Done and press T. Note: Some of the pic ture si zes may no t be avai lable depend ing on the receiv ing signal fo rmat (those will b e “grayed out” in the Pictu re Size screen). To view t he hidd en edge s, eith er scr oll th e pic ture ( TheaterWide 2 and 3 only) or try view ing the program in Full or Natural pict ure size.Dot by Dot (for VGA, SVGA, XGA, WXGA, and SXGA sources on l y) “Dot by Dot ” is a non-scali ng display.To turn on the auto aspect rat io feature: 1 From the Video menu, hi ghlig ht Theater Settings and pres s T. 2 In the Auto Aspect Ratio field, select On. 3 To save the new settings, highlight Done and press T. To revert to the factory defaults, highlight Reset and pres s T. To turn off the auto aspect ratio feature: Select Off in step 2 above.To revert to the factory defaults, highlight Reset and press T. To set the Cinema Mode to Video: Select Video in step 2 above.
